Chemical Peels
Chemical peels are personalized for each patient’s concerns and depending on your needs. Though the word “chemical” may sound scary, many of the chemical peels used at Advanced Specialty Care contain naturally derived ingredients such as glycolic acid, mandelic acid and citric acid. Acids are a species of chemical hence the name, “chemical peel”. In addition to Salicylic and Lactic Acid, some of the common ingredients in our Chemical Peels include:
- Glycolic Acid: Derived from cane sugar, Glycolic Acid exfoliates, increases skin thickness, evens pigment, clears acne and unclogs pores.
- Citric Acid: Derived from citrus fruits, Citric Acid has powerful antioxidant and corrective anti-aging effects plus all benefits of Glycolic Acid.
- Mandelic Acid: Derived from almonds, Mandelic Acid evens pigment, controls oil production, antibacterial.
- Retinol Peel: Retinol is a powerful anti-aging ingredient that ncreases skin thickness, enhances collagen, and reduces acne and post inflammatory hyperpigmentation.
These chemical peels show proven results for a variety of skin conditions: fine lines/wrinkles, hyperpigmentation/melasma, teen and adult acne, rosacea, keratosis pilaris, dry/dehydrated skin and skin texture concerns.
Treatments are recommended every 3-4 weeks, with maintenance every 8-12 weeks and peels can often be used in combination with other in office procedures, including laser treatments, micro-needling, and injectables.
Teen/Adult Acne Chemical Peel
Chemical peels are quick and easy treatments that are ideal for the teenage population. Peels exfoliate the surface of skin helping to clear pores and provide a smooth complexion. These AHA peels also help to reduce the appearance of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation. Peels for teen acne can be a great adjunct in treatment to reduce redness, inflammation, overall breakouts and to prevent further breakouts.
Brightening Peel
This brightening peel exfoliates the skin, which helps effectively diminish the appearance of dark spots and improves overall skin discoloration for a more radiant skin tone. It can be used on sensitive, normal and oily skin types.
Anti-Aging Peel
As skin ages, cell turnover slows, the skin’s matrix thins, and pigmentation becomes more noticeable. Common complaints include fine lines, wrinkles, hyperpigmentation and sagging of the skin. These peels provide anti-aging benefits across all skin layers. Exfoliation of the surface layers enhances cell renewal and pigment evening to improve skin clarity and the appearance of hyperpigmentation. A series of peels helps provide anti-aging and textural benefits including reduced appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
Retinol Peel
The Retinol Peel is an advanced formulation of peeling agents. It exfoliates the uppermost damaged layers of the skin to reveal fresher and healthier skin. Patients achieve noticeable improvement after one peel and significant results after three to six treatments.
Illuminage Peel
Vitamin A and other potent, non-acidic ingredients that do not damage the skin, are combined in this peel to effectively treat hyperpigmentation. Illuminage Peels are available in our Stamford, CT office.
TCA Peel
TCA Peels use Trichloroacetic acid for a deeper and more advanced treatment of damaged skin. TCA Peels target and remove more layers of skin and the result is a reduction in age spots and wrinkles, improved texture and increased skin tightening. TCA peels are only applied by trained physcians.
At Advanced Specialty Care, Chemical Peels are applied by trained medical professionals including Dermatologists and Licensed Skincare Nurses. Chemical peels are available in our Danbury, Norwalk, Ridgefield and Stamford, CT offices.
