How Is Microneedling Done?
During the microneedling procedure, tiny needles are used to create controlled, very small or micro injuries to the skin. This triggers the body to fill these areas by producing collagen and elastin. The skin’s repair process results in a thicker dermis with the appearance of softer wrinkles. Automated microneedling also creates superficial micro-channels, which allows topical serums and creams to be absorbed more effectively into the skin. For best results, it is recommended to complete a series of 3 treatments separated 1 month apart.
What To Expect During and Right After Microneedling
Treatments take about 20-30 minutes. The needles are very tiny so there is pain that will be very minimal. You can also have numbing cream applied to minimize any pain during the procedure. Expect to have some redness afterward; this will fade within a few hours. Your face will peel for about 4-5 days after treatment. However, the peeling can be well controlled with a hydrating moisturizer. Makeup can be applied following treatment as well.
