If your weight does change in the future, you can expect more dramatic shifts in appearance in the areas not liposuctioned. This may not blend as well with the treated areas. For this reason, it is wise to be realistic about the final weight that you can maintain. Get within 15 pounds of that number and then proceed with the liposuction. Your results should look good even if your weight fluctuates slightly over the years.
Liposuction is not a weight loss tool. It’s best to limit the amount of fat removed at any outpatient surgery to three to four liters. However, it is a very good idea to maintain your weight after liposuction. As you get older, your metabolism willautomatically slow down and you can expect to gain weight more easily in other areas. Areas treated by liposuction will also gain weight, but will always do so at a much slower rate. Exercise and proper diet will keep your metabolism stable and help maintain your results.
