Making Sure Hearing Aids Are Right For You

Making Sure Hearing Aids Are Right For You

Often patients who visit our audiology practice in Fairfield County, CT are leery of getting hearing aids because they wonder what if they get them and don’t like them. We have even been told that they have friends who have hearing aids sitting in a drawer.  Can they use their friend’s so they don’t waste their money!? There are two important things to remember about hearing aids.  One, they are customized for you.  Two, when you purchase hearing aids you have a trial period.

People experience hearing loss in different ways.Hearing aids are digitally programmed to your individual hearing and needs following an exam, and only enhance the areas of hearing where you need extra help.

There is little financial risk when purchasing hearing aids. When you purchase hearing aids, you sign a contract that outlines your rights as a hearing aid purchaser. The State of Connecticut requires that you have at least a 30-day trial period with hearing aids.In our audiology practice, our policy is a 45-day trial period. If, at the end of your trial period, you decide you don’t want your hearing aids, and you don’t want to try any other hearing aids, we refund you 90% of the cost of the aids. A vast majority of patients end up keeping their hearing aids. The audiologists at this practice strongly believe that if you think your hearing aids are going to stay in a drawer, you should return them.

At Advanced Audiology & Hearing Aids Services, we diagnose and treat patients of all ages with hearing problems.  If you having trouble hearing, visit us at one of our offices in Fairfield County, Connecticut in Danbury, New Milford, Norwalk and Ridgefield.
