Children have greater demands placed on their hearing and listening skills, especially in busy classrooms. That’s why when we at Advanced Audiology Care perform pediatric hearing evaluations, we want to make sure that we are getting the most accurate picture of your child’s hearing ability.
We perform our hearing evaluations in a special, sound-treated booth (much like a recording studio) to decrease the amount of background noise that may distract your child during the evaluation. Not only do we check for hearing beeps, or “tones”, which are done at most hearing screenings, we also assess your child’s ability to understand and discriminate words for conversation. In addition to this, we also check the quietest level at which your child can understand simple words. To make sure the experience is a good one, our hearing evaluations are performed like games, especially for younger children.
No hearing evaluation would be complete without checking the parts of the ear that help us hear! Using special machinery, we are able to check the function and health of the eardrum and inner ear.
