Allergist Neetu Godhwani
Advanced Specialty Care will be augmenting its allergy and asthma specialty care with the addition of Dr. Neetu Godhwani. Godhwani recently completed her Fellowship at Louisiana State University Health Science Center in Shreveport. She will be practicing out of the Norwalk, Danbury and New Milford offices.

Godhwani, who grew up in New York State, decided to move back to the East Coast to be closer to her family. She credits her brother, who has cerebral palsy, for her decision to go into medicine. “My brother is the most positive person I know, even given his health issues. He has been and continues to be my motivation for working in the medical field,” she explains.

Godhwani says her interest in allergy, immunology and immunodeficiencybegan in medical school. “There are so many new treatments and medicines in the field right now that it makes treating these diseases very promising. We can really see improvements in people,” says Godhwani.

“We welcome Dr. Godhwani to our practice, adding yet another highly qualified professional to our allergy specialty,” says Advanced Specialty Care CEO Dr. Richard Lipton. “With Dr. Godhwani’s help, we will continue to provide the best quality allergy and asthma treatment to our patients and look to expand our extensive experience with oral immunotherapy in the treatment of food allergies.”

Godhwani received a Bachelor of Science in Policy Analysis and Management, from Cornell University, College of Human Ecology. She completed a Master’s degree in Professional Studies in Health Administration from Cornell University’s Sloan Program in Health Administration. She attended medical school at St. George University School of Medicine and completed a residency at Westchester Medical Center’s Maria Fareri Children’s Hospital. She is Board Certified by the American Board of Pediatrics. Godhwani is a member of the American College of Allergy, Asthma, & Immunology; the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology; and the American Academy of Pediatrics. She is co-author of review article, “Anti-Epilepsy Drugs And The Immune System”.

When not at work, Godhwani enjoys the outdoors, yoga, cooking and Broadway shows.
