ASC Holds Benefit Fundraiser for the Late Melissa Raue, PA-C

Physicians, employees and employee families gathered on Friday, September 30th to honor the late Melissa Raue, PA-C through a Painting and Vino event,  to raise money in her honor for The Access Fund.

Melissa attended Yale University of Medicine and graduated in 2001. In 2002 she joined Dr. Kenneth Egan and became part of our family when they merged with us four years ago.

Melissa’s passion was rock climbing and had more than 15 years of experience. Unfortunately, Melissa was in a fatal accident in July, while doing what she loved, climbing. Melissa is survived by her husband Dave and her two sons Eric and Matt.

A.S.C. raised almost $1000.00 for The Access Fund.

The Access Fund is a non-profit rock climbing advocacy group in the US. Their goals are twofold. First, keeping climbing areas open and gaining access to currently closed climbing areas. Second, they promote an ethic of responsible climbing and conservation of the climbing environment. The Access Fund was originally the access committee of the American Alpine Club and was created as the climbing community realized the need for an organization to represent climbing and climbers’ rights in the US.

Melissa Raue will always be in our hearts-as she touched many professionally and personally.
